Description:
Keeping
with the tradition of "celebrating the counterculture,"
the 12th Cannabis Cup was dedicated to Jack Kerouac, Neal Cassady,
Allen Ginsberg and William Burroughs. All four figures were inducted
into the Counterculture Hall of Fame during the event. These inductions
were presided over by Carolyn Cassady, who was the great love of
both Jack
and Neal. She eventually married Neal, and they had a son, John
Allen Cassady, who also attended the event. Carolyn and John were
assisted by Robert Anton Wilson, Paul Krassner and Brian Hassett.
Many revealing stories were told about the founders of the "Beat
Generation." Also revealed was their great love for cannabis,
the sacrament of the counterculture. This video also contains the
highlights of the official awards ceremony, featuring Callum Francis
and the Cannabis Cup Band.
